CARNIVORE TRACK CASTS
INTERPRETER'S EDITION
Polylactic (PLA) casts are bioplastic produced from plant starches using a sustainable process to make opaque plastic. First a plaster cast is made in the field. Then we make a 3D scanned image and edit it to look "nice." Next the file is printed on a 3D printer. The resulting cast is student friendly, rugged and light weight to carry for field show and tell.
The Interpreter's edition consists of real duplicate casts of footprints of carnivores found across the United States and includes life-sized footprints of Coyote (front & hind) Bobcat (front & hind) Skunk (front and hind) Raccoon. It is a "WOW" set selected to amaze clients and other trackers. Each for the tracks is from a known situation documented in a written history. The original plaster casts were made in the field by Dr. Jim Halfpenny. Each cast includes a written history of the track scene.
